Dr. Kimberly C. Long, DHA, MSN, FNP, RN, FACHE

Dr. Kimberly Long is a highly accomplished Senior Healthcare Executive and Consultant with more than 30 years of success in the education, healthcare, community services and executive mentoring and coaching. Leveraging extensive experience in healthcare facility turnaround and change management, Dr. Long is an asset for healthcare and financial institutions seeking expert assistance with substandard performance from a strategic, financial and operations perspective, and aligning all aspects - cultural, operations, financial, and customer satisfaction. Her key areas of expertise include healthcare consulting, executive leadership and coaching, organizational leadership, business development, strategy, growth, strategic planning for organizational culture transformation and business process improvement.

Dr. Long is the Chief Executive Officer for the Association of California Nurse Leaders. She is a retired Chief Executive Officer for Vibra Hospital of Sacramento.

In addition to CEO, during her career as an administrator, she has held positions of Chief Operating Officer, Senior Vice President and System Chief Nursing Officer, Vice President for Clinical Services, Director of Cardiovascular Operations. In addition, Dr. Long has worked as a Cardiac Surgery Recovery Nurse, Pediatric and Adult ICU nurse and a Nurse Practitioner specializing in Genetic Disorders of the Blood and Chronic Disease Management.

Dr. Long holds a Doctor of Health Administration from the University of Phoenix, a Master of Science, Nursing from California State University, Fresno and a Bachelor of Science, Nursing from California State University, Dominguez Hills.

 

As CEO for Vibra, she was awarded the highest revenue per patient bed for Vibra Healthcare 2017; reduced employee turnover from 5% to 1.7%; and exceeded financial goals by more than $26M.  In other executive leadership roles, her programs have received recognitions including Best Hospital, Top 100 Hospital award for CABG and MI care, Joint Commission Quality Award, Excellence in Sepsis Care, and Beta Health Care Maternal Child Health Quality. She has served on numerous community boards including California Hospital Association, Hospital Council of Northern and Central California CEO Board, Nursing Advisory Boards for Holy Names University, University of San Francisco, and University of Phoenix. In addition, she served as an Alameda County Public Health Commissioner representing District 1. She has also served on the Healthcare Advisory Committee for California State Assemblyman Kevin Kiley (R-District 6). Dr. Long also served as President for the Association of California Nurse Leaders for 2019.

 

She has been recognized with numerous personal awards including Community Service Award, Lifetime Achievement Award, Woman of the Year, Excellence in Nursing Leadership, Excellence in Clinical Care Quality and Alumni Icon for School of Advanced Studies (University of Phoenix). She recently was honored with the nomination for Faculty of the Year at University of Phoenix. She is a Fellow of the American College of Health Care Executives.
